MOBILE BLACKSMITHS FORGE
CelticMetal Is on the road with their Mobile Forge, showing South Wales the skills and the expertise of the Blacksmith.
Celtic Metal are promoting rural skills hands on, in a fun and informative way.
Many of the idioms like “Strike while the irons hot” and “Dead as a door nail”come from blacksmithing and we will explain why and how they came about.
Over the past few months we have set up the mobile forge so that can travel around Swansea and South Wales. It will be visiting schools, communities, organisations and shows to provide demonstrations, workshops and classes in classical blacksmithing, Forge welding and artistic metal work. This exciting new project is being led by Celtic Metal’s resident Blacksmith Steve Day.
We’ll show them how the blacksmith heats the metal to form a fantastic range of metalwork, and then let the kids have a go.
"Don’t Panic" Health and safety is a priority of course, and we have a record second to none. When children have a go it’s all done cold, by making leaf and fish key rings totally safe and great fun!! and they can take them home. and Celtic Metal mobile forge is totally mobile and self contained
Our fees we charge only cover materials and expenses, we carry
full liability insurance and have risk and method statements as well as the
child protection policy.
